Collecting Q&A: 1975 Pontet-Latour by Barton & Guestier
Peter D. Meltzer
Posted: Thursday, April 24, 2008
Q: I have a 196-ounce bottle of a 1975 Pontet-Latour Bordeaux, by Barton & Guestier (B&G). I would like to get an idea of what it might be worth and where one would go to sell it. – Jordan Colburn
A: Pontet-Latour is not listed in the Wine Spectator Auction Index. However, depending on the condition of this wine, there might be a market online because of its size. I would contact a trusted Internet retailer to gauge the level of interest in the bottle. Understand that 1975 is not a highly regarded vintage and that many examples are past peak, so don't be overly optimistic about estimates.
