Chalone Agrees to $82 Million Sale to France's Rothschild Group

California wine company may go private, become part of three-way joint venture

In a deal worth about $82 million, Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) has agreed to buy the half of Chalone Wine Group that it does not already own and take the publicly held California company private.....
