Continuing my quick look back at the past year, here are the rest of my most memorable wine experiences, in no particular order:
6. La Paulée de Meursault: A friend is a member of the Toronto chapter of the Confrèrie des Chevaliers de Tastevin, a rather exclusive Burgundy-lovers’ group, which shares uncanny similarities with the arcane rituals of Fred Flintstone’s Water Buffalo Lodge. Read more

Best and Worst Wine Gifts

At our house, as in many, it’s both Christmas and Hanukkah, which brings forward a plethora of gifts and many a head scratched over what to give each other over the course of nine days. A Willamette Thanksgiving, Part 3

After leaving Lemelson, I drove around, lost, wasting a precious hour, cursing Google Maps for creating a road over the Dundee Hills that apparently doesn’t exist. I did see some beautiful countryside along the way, and cranked the Walkmen’s shockingly faithful rerecording of Harry Nilsson and John Lennon’s Pussycats album, eventually making it to the oasis that is Domaine Serene. Thanksgiving weekend is one of two times each year when the Willamette Valley’s wineries throw open their doors for wine lovers to come explore, taste, and buy some of Oregon’s finest wines.
