The Best-Laid Plans
Posted: 12:25 PM ET, November 29, 2006

I’m back in Buenos Aires for a little R & R. It’s my third time in this fascinating city. My initial visit was just a teaser, a day and a half after visiting wine regions in both Chile and Mendoza, Argentina. But the memory remained vivid. Read more
A 1990 Flashback
Posted: 10:51 AM ET, November 16, 2006
Recently, I had half a dozen wines from the 1990 vintage. And at the age of “sweet sixteen,” those wines showed how great this vintage is.
I blind-tasted two Champagnes from the 1990 vintage in August, during my annual Champagne tasting. Read more
Surrounded By Pinot Noir
Posted: 11:10 AM ET, November 01, 2006
Reflecting on the California Wine Experience just over a week ago, I am amazed at the popularity of Pinot Noir. Not only did we have more California Pinots than at any previous Wine Experience, we added a handful from Oregon (7) for good measure. There were 43 in all. Read more
