Natural Wines in the 21st Century

Wine Spectator columnist Matt Kramer on the most controversial subject in winemaking today: Can we take manipulation too far? Presenting three wines made in the most naturalistic fashion, Kramer made his case for the desirability of such wines in 21st-century winemaking.

Masseto Tasting

A salute to Masseto, the pure Merlot made by Tenuta dell'Ornellaia that is one of Italy's most sought-after wines. Lamberto Frescobaldi, owner, and Leonardo Raspini, managing director, led a vertical tasting of eight vintages going back to 1995. Wine Spectator senior editor James Suckling moderated.

Château d'Yquem Tasting

A once-in-a-lifetime vertical tasting from Château d'Yquem, producer of the world's most prestigious sweet white wines. Yquem director Pierre Lurton presented eight vintages of this rare and opulent wine. Wine Spectator senior editor James Suckling led the tasting.
