Every two weeks, we post a real Wine Spectator tasting note. Read the description carefully, noting the color, tastes, aromas and other important clues.
Then, figure out the correct answers in four multiple-choice categories: Variety, Country or Region of Origin, Approximate Age, and Appellation. Submit your guess and check the answer.
When you're finished with this edition, check out the "What Am I Tasting?" archive.
Good luck!

This red is dense but racy. The fine-grained tannins carry shaved vanilla bean, black currant paste, fig and loam notes through a superlong finish. Additional tobacco and cedar hints chime in on the finish. Really well-built, but needs cellaring to fill out fully.
