If you've experienced a perfect pairing of wine and food, you know how magical it can be; both the wine and the food taste better. In this course, you'll learn the strategies that will maximize your chances of making good or even great pairings. A component tasting will give you a thorough understanding of why many combinations work, and why some don't.
Please note that this course requires an understanding of wine evaluation. Before taking it, you should have completed the ABCs of Wine Tasting or Understanding Wine (or another solid introductory course).

Step-by-Step Tasting
This course includes an in-depth tasting that requires you to evaluate the pairings of five wines with a range of foods. By the end of the tasting, you--and your palate--will have a thorough understanding of why many combinations work, and why some don't.
Most students complete the class materials on their own and then share the tutored tasting with friends. All the materials you'll need to host a fun and educational pairing are provided in the course, except for wine (which you can buy from your local retailer), basic foods, a corkscrew and a printer.
